  • Pilot Prerequisites:
    1. Commanding Officer  recommendation of individuals who have the necessary experience and maturity to be a credible flight examiner at their unit;
    2. Rank of Capt to LCol;
    3. Meet appropriate aircrew medical standards;
    4. Must have a minimum of 5 yrs experience following completion of the members first OTU;
    5. Must have at least 1000 hrs total flying time, of which a minimum of 200 hrs is on the unit's primary aircraft;

    7. Barring an unforecast move, have a minimum of one year remaining from the next APS on the nominee's current flying tour.  This may be waived for individuals posted as staff pilots to an OTU for the aircraft they are presently flying;
    8. Candidate must possess a valid IRT, and it must not expire while the candidate is on course;

    NOTE:  The Unit CO may recommend an individual who does not meet the minimum requirements (except paragraphs 2f and 2g), if they believe the person has the necessary maturity and knowledge to perform the duties of an ICP.  The DICP has final approval on whether the individual is acceptable.  Note that the current DICP policy is that ALL prerequisites must be met - no negotiation.

    NOTE:  The Pilot prerequisites above must be ensured by the SET ICP.
