The RCAF Instrument Check Pilot School is located on 17 Wing (Base) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The ICP School is a Flight of the
Advanced Performance Center along with the HPMA Flight and the Astra Project.
The Advanced Performance Center reports to
Air Force Standards at the 1 Canadian Air Division HQ in Winnipeg.

The primary role of the Instrument Check Pilot School (Flight) is to train ICPs for the RCAF.

We also do the following:

Prepare the Annual Instrument Rating Test (IRT) Exams

Maintain the Manual of Instrument Flying (A-GA-148)

Research the latest IFR related technology advances and conduct avionics evaluations

Conduct Unit Staff Assistance Visits to complete the ICP training-feedback loop

Provide guidance in a number of instrument flight related areas

Plus participate in AF Stds activities such as:
